Education is of paramount importance and LifeAid sponsor our children to make sure they are not out of school. We also educate children on issues related to HIV/AIDS, hygiene and sanitation and the importance of completing primary, secondary, college and even University.
Our goal is that children become professionals and leave poverty behind
LifeAid is committed to ending child hunger. Our Need2Feed project in Zambia feed up to 30 children every fortnight. Crops harvested from our farms provide some food for the children.
Once a year, our elderly widows in Nigeria are provide food items to help them eat well and stay healthy.
Every year in all the countries we work, all our children and women are brought together for a Christmas party. Food is served, gifts are shared and it’s a wonderful time of fellowship to share the love of God.
LifeAid provides training for our women. We provide new skills in a variety of subjects that will enable empowering the women to start their own small business or join existing businesses. This allows them to bring added value and start earning for themselves and their families. Training in Cake making/decorations, catering, hairdressing, sewing are provided and often lead to employment. These enables the women to use their talents, giving them dignity and self-respect.
We also provided financial assistance in the form of a non interest loan to help set up businesses. This scheme has proved most helpful in getting women started without worrying about finances, a reasonable monthly repayment is arranged once the business takes off.
LifeAid worked in partnership with Harvest Gardens UK to farm land in Kenya and Ivory Coast. One plot of land farmed will feed approximately 50 people in the 1st year. We utilize the research by
In partnership with AgriSTEM Academy, LifeAid is Introducing a wider variety of agricultural activities such as fish farming, mushroom cultivation, dairy farming, and organic farming techniques. Each of these activities will be designed to teach specialised skills and provide multiple income-generating opportunities.
